Hello and thank you for your interest in my portfolio. My name is Yiwei Sun, but I also go by Cara. I am a UI/UX Designer, Jeweller (I designed my own engagement ring!), and Illustrator. I was born and raised in a Chinese family that has a rich history in design. I currently live in Union City, California.I enjoy teaching and sharing the knowledge I have gained with others. Cooking, traveling and playing with my cat are some of my favorite things to do during my spare time.I am a humorous and optimistic person who always believes that there are more solutions than there are problems.
I am a person who never succumbs to difficulties and I am always hopeful about the future. Working in design, I have learned that people are not always confident in your work; however, I build off of client feedback until I arrive at a final product that both I and the client love.
Working on my UI/UX design projects requires a lot of problem-solving and flexibility with clients, but seeing my creations come to fruition and be utilized by clients further strengthens my passion for the subject. To me, the difficulties I encounter along the way feel like another component of the process of growing and becoming better as a human being. The feedback I receive allows me to create better and more functional solutions.
I enjoy communicating with people, and I often receive feedback that I am good at collaborating with my teammates. As an UI/UX designer, I believe this highly collaborative discipline will require me to work closely with my colleagues in marketing, development, engineering, leadership, etc.
